" The

Rainbow

Bridge "

Just this side of heaven is a place called The Rainbow

Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to The Rainbow Bridge.

There are meadows and hills for all our special friends so they can run and play together.

There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross THE RAINBOW  BRIDGE  together....

After experiencing a pet bereavement poem like The Rainbow Bridge we hope you have found some comfort in dealing with your recent pet loss. Continue on to find and share with others like you who have sustained the loss of a pet also and perhaps find some type of pet loss counseling with each other.

Today I picked up Rumple's ashes... Cancer, it came all to quick and took away my buddie and friend. I miss him so much. Thank you boy for being my loyal, loving companion and protector. I hope to see you whole again...I'll never forget you.

I had to put my cat to sleep yesterday. It was the hardest thing ive ever done. I had my baby for 16years. I was just a lil girl when i found him and hes always been by my side. The poem is very comforting in knowing that there is hope that i may one day see him again.

It was very comforting to run across your site at a time of grief after loosing "Judy" a few weeks ago, and I have never heard the rainbow bridge poem before. It is quite consoling knowing that "Judy" is there playing with all the other pets who are waiting for their owners to join them. It appears this is a new site and I am the first to add a comment. I had "Judy" put down at the vet and she died peacefully in my arms and the vet took care of the remains. At that time I was not aware of urns, and caskets, and keepsakes or I would have opted for an urn, but I will just wait for that day to come for us to be re-united once again.

Thank you once again for your caring
